ABOUT ME...

DC 2.jpg

My name is Moment, like "wait a moment." Yes, my parents are hippies from the sixties and my mom even got inspiration for my name from a surfing poster on Wrightsville Beach!

I am a native Wilmingtonian and relocated to Wilmington, N.C. after living in Washington, D.C., where I attended Georgetown University, taking courses in the Master of Professional Studies in Journalism program.

It's so energizing being back in "Wonderful Wilmington," (as my mom calls it), and I look forward to reconnecting with the city that I'm from and the place that I love calling "home" again.

As a writer and journalist, I enjoy human interest stories and storytelling through written, audio, and video mediums. Much of my background is in magazine and newspaper writing for various publications with The Charlotte Observer. I also have experience in website creation and design, content management systems (e.g. WordPress), and different software tools/programs such as Adobe Premiere.

I'm looking forward to continuing honing my writing skills, as well as (hopefully!) venturing more into audio/radio and video production. While I don't know exactly what the future holds for me, I know this next chapter will be filled with a colorful cast of characters, perhaps more unforeseen (but welcome) plot twists, and many, many beautiful stories to recount for years to come.

Thank you for getting to know me! (And feel free to send me a quick note on the Contact page if you feel so inclined!)

Sincerely yours,

- Moment

LIKES: When I'm not writing and staying connected to my sources and my community, you'll find me cooking, crafting, gardening, and spending time with my "cat-panion," Tyber.

MY FAVES: I consider myself an NPR "fanatic."

I enjoy listening to a variety of different podcasts where I always find entertainment and inspiration. (Feel free to send me your favorites, too...I'm always looking for suggestions!)
